The Congress of Mexico City is seeking to encourage the "Home Office" with a discount of up to 40% on the Payroll Tax.
The objective, of course, is tending to bring benefits in terms of mobility, health, environment, and work; as well as seek savings for the worker.
However, from the legal point of view, this measure, although it is good in principle, brings with it a series of doubts in its application; This is because the Federal Labor Law does not regulate this modality of remote work, which has been resulting in a lack of control on the issue of assistance, which results in the lack of accreditation or evidence in the event of a dispute.
The course is ideal, there are more benefits than harm, and the impulse will be needed in the Federal Congress to adapt the LFT to modern times and equally modern modalities.
In this way, the measure could be adapted not only to Mexico City but to the rest of the country, which in cities like Monterrey, Guadalajara, Querétaro, and Puebla would become equally practical.
